KWL charts are ideal to use in Reading lessons before and after reading a non-fiction text or watching an informative video. You can also use them at the beginning of a Science, Humanities or Topic unit of work to gain insight into your students' prior knowledge.
Not to mention, it's a fantastic tool for your students! By prompting them to activate their prior knowledge, they'll be primed to connect existing and new knowledge and actively engage with the information that comes their way!
